By plane
There are two flights a day from Oslo to Hasvik (Sørøya) with a stopover in Tromsø. The best option is to take the morning flight from Oslo, which lands in Hasvik at 15:43. From Hasvik Airport, we help arrange transfers, which must be booked in advance via email.
The transfer takes about 40 minutes, and the bus usually stops at the grocery store in Sørvær to purchase food for the first few days.
The return trip is booked from Hasvik to Oslo with a stopover in Tromsø. For the return trip, we recommend the flight departing at 08:35.
Can be easily booked at www.wideroe.no or www.SAS.se. It pays to book well in advance; the earlier you book, the lower the prices.
By car
The fastest route is via Pajala – Finland – Kautokeino – Alta – Langfjordsbotten, where the ferry departs. You can find the ferry schedule at https://snelandia.no/ or on the Snelandia app in the App Store.
Search from: Øksfjord ferjekai (Loppa) to: Hasvik kai (Hasvik). It is recommended to take the afternoon ferry, as you will arrive just in time for check-in at the camp. From July 2022, the ferry is free.
It is also possible to fly to Alta and rent a car, then take the ferry from Øksfjord to Sørøya. This is a good alternative if you want access to a car for sightseeing on the island or fishing for trout/char in the mountains.
